Despite tireless efforts by the INC Chair and government negotiators to finalise a global plastics treaty, it will not be agreed in Busan, as planned. We are encouraged by the increased alignment amongst over 100 countries on critical elements.

Representatives from the Business Coalition for a Global Plastics Treaty will attend as registered observers the fifth and final planned meeting of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5) in Busan, Republic of Korea, between 25 November and 1 December 2024.

With limited time left for negotiations, reaching an agreement on everything at INC-5 may be challenging, so we have developed this Roadmap towards an effective Global Plastics Treaty that is fit for purpose.
